Rainbow silk is a product unique to Léa Silk and Ban Reng Khai. The rainbow silk and rainbow silk dyeing technique were developed by Léa and have not been matched by any other textile producer. The weft or the warp (sometimes both) are painted in a random pattern using brushes and special solar sensitive paint. The paint is fixed on the fabric by the sun. The resulting cloth is lustrous, creative, and very definitely unique. Finished cloth is 100cm in width.

After the silk is woven the silk cloth is folded into many pleats, flattened, and soaked in water. Then with many colours and natural floral effects the fabric is painted and dried in the sun. Because of the dye, the soaking, the pleats, and the natural flora, a “diamond design” fabric is the result. Voila, the name “diamond silk”. |

| Our plain silk is very versatile. We use it for women's and mens' clothing as well as for pillow cases and other home décor items. Natural undyed off-white silk is popular for wedding dresses. You may find it interesting to know that the colour of the natural silk varies according to the speed that the silk worm spins its coccoon. This depends on the weather and changes with the seasons! Material is 100cm in width. |
